Employment

Our employment lawyers provide contentious and non-contentious employment advice to both employers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship.
Our team’s focus is on finding practical solutions to our clients’ employment issues. We provide pragmatic and commercial advice to businesses and public sector organisations across the UK; advising clients across a range of sectors, including the property, housing, IT, police, hotels and leisure, transport, education, advertising and marketing and public sectors. We work hard to gain knowledge of our clients' businesses to enable us to put our advice into context and to tailor our service effectively to their needs.

A key aspect of what we do is to provide specialist support to Human Resources departments by assisting them on day-to-day issues that arise within their organisations.  We help our clients to manage risk by ensuring that their policies and procedures are up to date and by assisting them to train their managers and HR professionals in how to avoid claims from their employees.

We also assist on larger projects such as internal reorganisations, business transfers and collective redundancies.  We work closely with our clients to help them manage these changes effectively so as to prevent workplace disputes.   However, some employment issues inevitably become contentious and when this does happen we are there to support and represent our clients’ in both the Employment Tribunals and the Courts.

Our team adopts a proactive approach to helping clients to keep abreast of the frequent changes in employment law through bespoke training and a comprehensive programme of employment law workshops, seminars and bulletins. We also assist in implementing these changes so as to avoid difficult employment issues rather than reacting to them.

Our aim is to build long-term client relationships, placing great emphasis on client care and in working in partnership with clients to assist them with all their employment needs from recruitment to retirement.
