Most of the time, our property lawyers work in specific sectors such as housebuilding, the police, licensed trade, the church, private client and so on. In this way they bring sector-specific experience to bear on particular property issues. A lease is always a lease, but in practice the issues that a lease throws up can vary quite significantly from one business to the next. By combining property expertise with an understanding of the client’s business sector, we can provide a well-informed, sharply-focused service that protects clients and saves time and money.
Commercial property work is thus a key business area for our firm, but our service is delivered through a wide range of specialist practice areas rather than as a single property department.
Dispute resolution/litigation and construction are areas of growing importance both within the property industry and for our firm. In 2005 we appointed two new partners, both from City firms, to head up and develop our practice in these areas and we are well placed to provide expert advice.
As well as working with leading housebuilders over a number of years, our property lawyers have established a strong retail presence through our licensed trade clients and other retail operators. Our property lawyers have particular expertise in the telecommunications sector, advising on the acquisition of telecommunications mast sites, site sharing and telecommunications code issues.
We recognise that our clients do not have a licensing problem or a construction problem, they have a business problem. From our own resources we assemble an experienced team with all the legal and commercial know-how needed to create an effective solution, whatever that problem may be.
